Uy!
mataas din pala ang iniisip ko para sa 24s ko (13k), Erikjon is there a
cheaper brand or model option for this set? thanks!

crankarms - (appropriate length for 24s)
bashring
FFW
fixed cog -( gearing, wala akong idea scratch )

BB - pwede naman na yung mga isis BB na available dito diba?

yung pinaka affordable sana, or mas OK nga kung may 2nd hand Rolling Eyes
Di ko kaya yung SGD$400 Very Happy

yung problema lang ay yung bb. wala sila yung worldcat bb. monty bb lang sya.

on the other hand, that monty bb will last you a very long time!

you can us e another isis bb pero just make sure it is the right length para your crank arms don't hit the chainstay.

for me, i use 175mm crank arms with a 18T ffw. i use an 18T in front and a 13t in the rear. it's a good compromise between power and saving my bad back! hahaha!

i'll let you know kung may makita ko ng cheaper option. try check tartybikes.co.uk

they might have something cheaper.

ooops sorry! i forgot to ask, are you riding 20", 24" or 26"? for me, 175mm is better for a 24"/26". kasi you don't need to use too much strength to kick up the bike. kahit 170mm may problema na ako. hehehe!

Zteg43 - sa palagay ko, parang maging masyadong "light" yung gearing kung 18:15 yung gearing. especially with a 158mm crank arm, you may no be able to get good power para sa gaps. kailangan mo mag dip yung front wheel more just to make a larger gap. i already need to dip a lot with my set up pero di pwede yung back ko to change to 18:12 gear ratio.

Davidoff - One thing i also jsut realised is na with 165mm cranks, you'll be pedaling more kahit malaking ikot sya. especially when you pedal kick, i think you'll find the leverage better kasi you'll only need a bit of rotation to get the smal power. when i Burst/Zaptap/pedalkicking-to-mount-objects, i need a half revolution ng cranks to get a certain hieght/distance. kung ginagamit mo ng shorter cranks mas grabe yung rotation mo.

the best advice for both of you is to try a bike with 175mm cranks with different gear ratios. Tingnan mo yung feel ng power. also, try to find a frame na closer yung wheelbase to the bike you use/want to use kasi kung masmahaba yung frame you're trying, you'll have a harder time.

hope this helps! sorry for the bad taglish!

tsaka ok ba ang 22:16 gear ratio or 22:18?

sir erik.

diba mas heavier kung shorter ang arm?

im now using 165mm 18/12 on my mod.

its heavy daw. sabi nila joelou.

pero, as i searched, ito daw ang tama for MOD.

ang gamit kasi nila 165mm 21/17. and ian is using 165mm 18/14...

so naisip ko, it might somehow have the same effect as my MOD set-up, if i use 158mm 18/15 on my 24 set-up.

im now getting confused.

hehe....

oo nga...ako rin....ok...as far as i know,

22T in front and 13T behind for 26", feels roughly the same as 18T in front and 13T rear for 24".

so, i'm guessing na technically, it means if you switch from 26"-24", dapat minus two teeth in front? hahaha!

and if you're already using the smallest you can find in front, you minus i tooth in the rear?

you know what, tatanongin ko si walton.

ok guys...

this is the FORMULA!

take the gear ratio you are using now, for example, mine is 18:13 (18t in fornt, 13t for rear).

18 divide by 13 = approx 1.38

so, kung gusto ko mag convert to 22T in front, take 22 divide by 1.38. what i get is apporx. 15.9. so i have a choice to run 15t or 16t.

The math is reversed kung hinahanap mo for the rear.

Walton told me na pls use this only if you really don't know what to run. Dapat by feel so siguro use this as a guide, try it and adjsut accordingly.

he also gave me a rough guide -

20" bikes should only use 158mm-160mm. some frames can accept 165mm.
26" bikes should only use 175mm cranks. 170mm does nnot give the right amount of leverage. he didn't give me any specifics.
24" bikes REALLY need to use 175mm kasi the leverage won't work as well kung ginagamit mo ng 170mm.

Gear ratios -
20" - 18t : 12t
26" - 18t : 15t
24" - 18t : 13t/24t

hope this helps!

sir thanks sa offer. but what i need is the crank itself. or perhaps a 5bolt 22t chain ring will do.

you can see my rig at the media thread. it is the group 1 bike. as you will see, i am using a 165mm race face crank. its now on a 24t set-up. i would like to try a 22t but a 5bolt ring is hard to find at the moment.

if you can help me with a 22t (5bolt) chain ring that would be very much appreciated. TIA! Laughing
