They need a slighty different type of preload. With a normal sidehop, I kinda preload my weight bawckwards and down, this moves my momentum upwards and forwards when doing the actual sidehop which ends up landing front wheel first then pivoting the back up.

With a tuck sidehop I preload more down and less back, this puts my momentum more vertically and as the bike is comming up its almost like I am just placing the bike to the side of me, it almost feels like I am trying to sit on my chainstay. doing this makes me land both wheels together and tucked to the side.

The tucking method I feel gets better results, its much more "floaty" than a pivot method and I seem to get high with them too.

Its taken me aaaages to get them, it was strange though, I couldnt do them at all no matter how hard I tried. Then one day by magic I did one out of the blue and it kinda clicked.

I think you need to see it done. It's very hard if you learned to sidehop from 2 wheels to then get the tuck from backwheel.

Your description about preloading down instead of back was good advice. I am starting to figure that out as well, but it is taking me way too long.

Bro I noticed on the slow mo video, ryan released the rear break on the pre-load then hit it again after float, but never keep his finger out on the front break.
